Tri-B-Plex® - How it Works

Background

This product is the result of many hours of research in both the library and the laboratory, and has been developed using proven scientific data.

B-complex is probably the single most important nutritional adjunct in chiropractic care because of its fundamental role in maintaining proper nerve flow and function. Specifically, B1, B2, B3, biotin and pantothenic acid are essential for metabolism of glucose, the major fuel source for the brain and nervous system. Vitamin B1 is also one of the factors involved in the maintenance of nerve membrane function.

Vitamin B12 is needed for maintenance of the myelin sheath and nerve fibers of the spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. Folic acid, in conjunction with B12, is necessary for DNA synthesis and proper red blood cell formation.

Vitamin B6 is essential for formation of hemoglobin and is involved with the regulation of neuronal activity as well as serving as a cofactor for numerous enzymes involved with amino acid metabolism. B6 is also an essential factor in proper glandular function.

ABSORPTION AND UTILIZATION:

B-complex vitamins are generally readily absorbed. However, because they are water soluble and not stored in the body, they are lost extremely easily through secretion. For this reason, they must be supplied throughout the day, every day. When obtained from food, vitamins are gradually released over several hours as food is digested. However, in clinical situations higher potencies than those found in food are required. This presents a dilemma to the clinician, as standard B-complex supplements release nutrients all at once for absorption. In this case, the body absorbs and utilizes what it can at that time, and the expensive remainder is excreted.

Anabolic Laboratories has developed a unique solution to this problem: the controlled-release beadlet delivery system. This specialized capsule formulation provides a high-potency, therapeutic dose in a form which mimics the slow, natural utilization of nutrients from the food. Tiny sugar-free beadlets are coated with alternating layers of nutrients and a controlled-release solution. The coated beadlets are then encapsulated. As the capsule dissolves in the stomach, the beadlets are dispersed, and the nutrients are released one layer at a time from each beadlet. This highly specialized system has been clinically shown to provide increased bioavailability of water soluble vitamins (see references).

This delivery system provides a smooth, even release of nutrients to the patient throughout the entire day, and is far superior to standard timed-release tablets and compressed pellet timed-release tablets.

Only Tri-B-Plex® offers enhanced absorption, improved utilization, minimum excretion and maximum economy to your patients when they need vitamin B-complex nutritional support.

The Need To Consider Quality:

Of the magnesium supplements tested by ConsumerLab.com, 25% failed to meet quality standards. One magnesium supplement contained only 45.4% of labeled amount, despite boasting a "GMP" (Good Manufacturing Practices) seal on its label, and another supplement provided only 28.8% of the labeled amount.

Tests by ConsumerLab.com have found multivitamins that were short on ingredients, failed to dissolve properly, or were contaminated with heavy metals.
ConsumerLab.com, New Product Review: Multivitamin and Multimineral Supplements, Posted 4/1/09

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has found that manufacturing problems have been associated with dietary supplements. Products been recalled because of microbiological, pesticide, and heavy metal contamination, and because they do not contain the dietary ingredients they are represented to contain, or they contain more or less than the amount of dietary ingredient claimed on the label.
