Brief Product Description

HIP + JOINT represents a synergistic combination of joint support factors Glucosamine, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Chondroitin Sulfate, Manganese and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). These naturally occurring substances provide the building blocks for supporting healthy joint and connective tissue functions. The results combine to support mobility, exercise tolerance and comfort.

Hip + Joint Soft Chews for Cats - How it Works

Hip+Joint is a synergistic combination of ingredients that can optimize your dog’s joint function and comfort, while at the same time provide building blocks necessary to support normal joint structure. It maintains healthy joint and connective tissue function in dogs predisposed to loss of structure and function in joints over time.

• Chondroitin sulfates helps support the proper structure and function of healthy connective tissues and joints. The purified Chondroitin sulfates in these products are derived from Certified BSE Free Bovine Tracheal Cartilage, which is a rich source of biologically-active Chondroitin Sulfates.

• Glucosamine has many direct benefits. It supports GAG synthesis and provides flexibility to the stressed joints.

• Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a source of organic sulfur. Sulfur supports proper maintenance of connective tissue function, flexibility of joint and helps maintain everyday comfort.

• Vitamin C and Manganese are required for the synthesis of collagen and for the production of GAGs. As an antioxidant, Vitamin C also protects tissues from free radical damage.

• Dimethylglycine (DMG) supports the production of many constituents in the body. It acts as an antioxidant to protect the joints from free radical damage.

• Omega-3 fatty acids, Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) from fish oil, are precursors to the PGE3 series of prostaglandins, which are substances important to proper body regulation and joint comfort. Fish oil is also important for optimal joint function. It balances prostaglandins and leukotrienes to support joint and connective tissue health.

NASC

member of nasc

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) was established to work with the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) and the FDA to resolve product regulation issues for companion animals. The NASC seal on Pet Naturals labels guarantees your customers that the product meets the organization's guidelines for quality, integrity and truth in labeling. Dr. Roger Kendall, Pet Naturals Vice President of Research and Development, and Dale Metz, Pet Naturals CEO, are NASC founding members.

As part of the NASC executive team, Mr. Metz is also involved in working with the FDA and the Center of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) to establish new policy guidelines for animal health products. Dr. Kendall is the Chair of the NASC Scientific Advisory Committee. In addition, both have played an instrumental role in the development of the NASC Compliance Plus Program. This program sets guidelines for product labels, adverse event reporting protocols and quality control standards, as well as providing guidance for industry-directed research. At present, the NASC represents 65% of the animal health product manufacturers in the United States.

The Results of Our Research

Pet Naturals formulas are the result of extensive research and development by Dr. Kendall as well as the collective efforts of our product development team. Our research focuses on the complex relationships that exist among available components that together promote wellness and support health. From these insights, Pet Naturals has been able to create some of the most significant products in the animal industry. Moreover, FoodScience Corporation, our parent company, has conducted extensive research into the exciting properties of N,N-Dimethylglycine (DMG), significantly broadening the boundaries of knowledge about this metabolic intermediate.

Pet Naturals has always utilized feedback from veterinarians in our ongoing mission to improve the efficacy and reliability of our product line. In 2005, the Veterinarian Advisory Board was established to help design new Pet Naturals products for our ever-expanding portfolio and to review existing products.
